Or musical tribute, and our way of saying goodbye, to our old high school best friend, Monty Montgomery, who we learned, only recently, has passed away after a year-long battle with brain cancer at the age of 51. We mourn and miss Monty and remember him and his excellent and wonderful musical tastes with this special mix of music that he introduced us to and was very much into when we knew him and when we hung out together, 1982 being a key year. This is essentially a mainstream New Wave music mix, but for Monty--including many of the groups he followed and admired. In respectful remembrance, we share our memories and the music which defined and inspired Monty as well as being a key period in our early lives as well as in the history of music in general (circa 1982). - 3 hours. Originally webcast on September 3rd, 2017.
Originally webcast on July 16th, 2017: This is a new 3-hour collage show / mix / program all about belief systems: how they define us, separate us, guide us and how we might envision a world that goes beyond them. Is it better to know than believe? Or, barring both, to then just wonder? Featuring remixed and excerpted work by Sadhguru, Abraham-Hicks, David Icke, Naomi Klein, Robert Anton Wilson, Bill Gates, Carl Sagan and a treatment/review of the new Roger Waters (of Pink Floyd fame) solo offering: 'Is This the Life We Really Want?' Took about 2.5 weeks to put this together.
Webcast on June 25th, 2017 on Plundercast and DFM. Part of (and completing) our 'Four Elements' quad-rilogy ( which included NCN - The Earth Sleeps Alone, NCN - Share the Air and NCN - Songs from the Flood Zone ), this includes a lot of new material, all about fire, global warming, heatwaves and heat: smack-dab in the middle of Summer, 2017 (timely, as always) when much of the world is sweltering. Think of it as audio commiseration in the midst of our near-universal condition! Includes work by DJ BC, DJ Shylock, DJ MXR, DJ Doc Rok, A plus D, DJ Aristocat, Party Ben, DJ Johnny Red, much much more! - 3 hour mix!
A Special 4-hour program webcast originally on May 28th, 2017. Newport of Midnight Voicejail fame. Includes SubGenius Trump-centric and otherwise Doktor commentary from Dr. Hal, Suicide Man, K-ROB, Puzzling Evidence and Philo Drummond on KPFA and other surprises such as DIY mashups from Wax Audio, Super Deluxe, Pogo, Steinski, and more!

A show done with Puzzling Evidence, Hal Robins (or Dr. Hal of The Church of the SubGenius) and NCN's Phineas Narco, in the KPFA studios, along with some callers including Suicide Man. The first half of this 'Narco Edit' of the show is a frenetic live mix about the subjects of time, history and time travel, featuring many DIY works by various found sound artists, in the mix. The latter half of the show consists of mostly a discussion between Phineas, Puzzling and Hal about history and cinematic history including the new King Kong movie. The show ends with a new Trump composition by NCN and others - 5 hours.

This is a subject we've explored before, and this foray includes some new NCN material such as a dramatized dream, and rant, from Phineas Narco, clips from 'Dreamland', the 5th episode of Midnight Voicejail, as well as some dream-oriented version medleys, songs about dreams and speculations on reincarnation and lucid dreaming. Also, material about zombies, in the latter half of the program, from Pop Defect Radio ('Day of the Dead 2'). Also found sound material from Negativland, Jim Larrance, Richard Lindsay, Kumquat, Girl Talk, Kleptones, Divide and Kreate, and DJ Earworm sprinkled throughout. Webcast on April 23rd, 2017--A psychedelic and experimental media mix of mostly music all about these mysterious and darkly beautiful creatures and their treatment in culture at large. This program skitters around from rap to rock, to R and B... from comedy to SubGenius lore (featuring clips from The Puzzling Evidence Show), this show covers a lot about our 8-legged friends. Our favorite part is the blues set which starts about halfway through the show. Later in the mix we have a Spiderman set. Hope you like! - 3 hour mix. Cover art by Ninah Pixie of Big City Orchestra!
Webcast on February 26th, 2017--Songs inspired by rain and floods and our recent geographically close brush with the rising water in San Jose, recently. A simultaneous sequel to our program 'The Rain Show' and also the latest installment in our 'Elements' series (which included 'The Earth Sleeps Alone and 'Share the Air'). We take a look at the effects of climate change and the universal rising of sea levels in the future and many many songs about rain and flooding in this compilation of water music. Sprinkled throughout the program are excerpts from a high quality copy the 'Best' of Don Joyce's 'The Rain Show' on Over the Edge, which came out a couple hours after coincidentally webcast our 'The Rain Show' in 2014. - 3 hours
Webcast originally on February 12th, 2017--This is a collection of remixes of Devo songs, mostly culled from Soundcloud artists and then selected for the best ones. A trilogy-completing 'sister show' to NCN's 'The Devo Show' as well as our 'The No Devo Devo Show', this installment concentrates exclusively on remixes (though technically a cover or two might have slipped through). Enjoy this somewhat loopy all-remix version of the spudboys' work (with several versions of 'What We Do' as a running leitmotif throughout). Put together at the last minute, a day before showtime, as inspired by Stephen McQuillen, during a period that we tried to pry our brains away from Trump news in the first month of his presidency. This program seemed appropriately enough to be an obliquely relevant distraction for the time being. Playlist is in internal id3 tag of the mp3. - Over 2 hour show.
Originally webcast on Plundercast and DFM out of Amsterdam on February 5th, 2017--A much-extended version of a show we did with UNIVAC and Big City Orchestra from years ago featuring music made from video games, collages mixes and songs about video games. - 3 hour show.
Webcast on January 22nd, 2017--An alternative soundtrack to the swearing in of the 45th President of the United States, largely culled from song on author John Shirley's playlist on youtube with a few added and admittedly unrelated surprises. Music for the rest of us on this fateful day. Note--This program has a few songs with possibly NSFW lyrics, listener discretion advised. This is also a different edit than the broadcast version.
Note-Some of the Subject Matter May be NSFW. Listener Discretion Advised. Yes. A show all about... That. Detailing the #GoldenGate scandal which took place just days before Donald J. Trump's inauguration in January of 2017, as well as an examination of the reliability of the news, the role of fake news, and a lot of comedy bits and songs about, uh... 'pee'. Webcast on January 15th, 2017 on DFM out of Amsterdam. - 3 hour program.
Weeee're Baaack! Thanks to YOU! Webcast originally on January 1st, 2017--We kick off the start of 2017 with a brand new offering about fake news, information overload, epistemological conundrums, choice nuggets of audio plunderphonia, new music, a look ahead at what might happen in 2017, and generally the BEST of the year (so far). Just kidding. We also have Rev. Twobeans' new Star Wars mix and some new (and older, rare) Negativland/OTE (Over the Edge) clips. Thanks to all who helped us get a new computer with which to create our mixes and continue our Latent Einstein Outreach Ministry. The title refers to quotes from Einstein (pictured) and Frank Zappa: two 20th Century geniuses we admire. - 3 hour mix.

Other material includes stuff from the great Bob Rivers, Scooter (from Innerside Radio), Dr. John, The Bran Flakes and a portion that's a tribute to our Jewish Friends called 'Hebrewphilia'. 128kbps 79 min.

Originally broadcast, Christmas 2007 on plundercast.net.
