Paradox Explorer is a multimedia and performance group based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. They experiment with mixing audio, video, animation and software into hybrid creations. Paradox Explorer consists of several core members. These members design and implement the initial works. They are often joined by talented musicians, DJs, VJs, dancers, and other performers. Paradox Explorer strives to make each performance an immersive environment using sound, image and various cutting edge technologies. A forerunner in new methods of performance, P.E. has been involved in several interactive performance environments over the past few years. In 2004, they produced a series of shows called "Sequential Progression". These performances utilized Virtual Reality data gloves to send network information between distributed performance spaces. The glove could be used to remotely control audio and video generation. In 2005, P.E. participated in Netstockfest, a weekend-long online concert. The band performed in Ann Arbor, sending a network stream to the festival's servers, which was then relayed out to the world. In 2005, they also performed an updated version of the Sequential Progression series ("Sequential Progression 1.1"). The group has a DVD released by Sensory Research. The band will be performing abroad in Summer 2010.
